Here’s the great thing about a chest of drawers – it is a truly multipurpose piece of furniture it can be used in virtually any room. Whether you need a bureau that’s tall, short, narrow, or wide there are many options available and many types of wood and finishes to choose from.

Smaller Chests

A small chest of drawers as well inside your bathroom, space an entryway, the living room, or other area that you’d like to add an accent to the room, but you don’t want the chest of drawers to stand out too much. Small chests are often used in the bathroom space is more limited and you can store your toilet paper, soap’s, review, allusions, and other light items.

Medium-Sized

A medium-size chest of drawers is perfect for living and family rooms. We can use it to store things like games, books, magazines, and other communal objects that family and friends share. They can also be used as end tables in the living room on which we can put coasters for drinks, magazines or reading, remote controls, or reading glasses. My father even used a chest of drawers to store his music back when I was growing up. If you’re the artsy type you might store your art supplies; if your musician you might store songbooks, sheet music, lyrics; if you’re into knitting, macrame, space crochet – you might store your yarn and needles in it; if you’re a painter you can store your painting supplies in there. The list goes on for whatever your hobby or pastime might be.

For both small and medium-sized bureaus, you can often place at nearby another piece of furniture such as sectional sofa, a large leather sofa, a large reclining chair, or any larger piece of furniture. The idea is to have the chest of drawers accent the other pieces in the room, while being functional for storing whatever items you wish

Large-sized

These sizes are perfect for bedrooms and guestrooms. With the larger chest, you will be able to make it the centerpiece of the room more easily. The larger chest of drawers can be quite beautiful – so selecting one made of oak, mahogany or pine would be appropriate. As far as uses in the bedroom, you can store your clothes in it or can be a small nightstand next to your bed..

They’re great for storing pants that we can fold shorts, socks, underwear, undershirts, sweaters, sweatshirts and T-shirts. And button-up shirts that are more casual and can handle some wrinkling. Chests are also great for store items on top of them, on which we can put our books candles lamps, water glasses, reading glasses, alarm clock, tissue or whatever you need quick access to in the morning or night.

So we’ve discussed several options based on size, functional uses, and given you different ideas for decorating with a chest of drawers. So hopefully you’ll open up your imagination to other ideas and find the perfect way for you and your family to place your chest.
